In 2015, with an initial $500,000 endowment pledge from the Diversity program of the  Andrew W. Mellon Foundation the Benjamin A. Quarles Humanities and Social Science Intitute was  established and founded on the Campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. It is seeking additional  endowment support to insure that its dedication to Quarles' rich legacy will continue into perpetuity.
